Note:
Strength: Bold coffee is not necessarily made with dark roasted coffee beans. Strength is the actual caffeine content in a particular amount of coffee. N.B: Arabica has less caffeine content than Robusta coffee beans.
Intensity: This depends on the consistency of the body, the richness of the flavour and the strength of the aroma. The scale used to define the levels of intensity is: 7–8: lighter-bodied coffee with a delicate flavour. 9–10: balanced coffee, rich in flavours. 11–13: full-bodied coffee with generous aromas.
Ristretto vs Espresso vs Lungo: Any roast can create a cup of Ristretto vs Espresso vs Lungo when done correctly, it doesn't matter whether it's Light, Medium or Dark roasts. This is determined during the brewing process. In simple terms, a ristretto is typically a condensed version of an espresso using less water and a lungo is a stretched version of an espresso with more water. All of the water in the versions mentioned are brewed and not added afterwards.
